What to expect
After a few kilometres of dirt road through the rice fields, we will reach the farm and agritourism, cultivating and processing Italian rice (10 a.m.). We will visit the rice fields and the small rice mill inside: we will see all the stages of processing, from paddy rice to milled rice.
Afterwards, we will move on to the cooking class in the restaurant (11.30 a.m.). From Franca’s skilful hands, we will see panissa being prepared and we will be able to try cooking panissa vercellese and risotto with her. Panissa alla vercellese is still a risotto, but typical of the countryside around Vercelli. We will savour a lunch with appetiser, risotto and panissa cooked together, dessert.

Not only rice: I will accompany you to visit some of the most interesting farms in the area. We will discover Carnaroli rice and Artemide rice, a fragrant cross between Nero Venere and Basmati rice. You will be engaged in cooking classes on rice and panissa, and in blueberry and berry picking. We will enter the world of Sensory Analysis of Rice with this cereal’s Sommeliers.

A fascinating and educational tour from the field to the rice factory. The tour guide is charming and knowledgeable. The cooking workshop taught us quite a bit about making risotto and the meal was pleasant and tasty. A highly recommended tour.
