Italian cured meats: Salum’è arrives in Rome

The first market exhibition dedicated to rare Italian cured meats will take place on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December 2019

Salum’è is the market show designed to promote and enhance high-quality Italian cured meats in the Roman area.

The event, at its first edition, is part of a tested format that sees “La Pecora Nera Editore”, a publishing house specializing in food and wine guides, as organizer with Vincenzo Mancino of “DOL – Of Lazio Origin,” taster and owner of several food shops in the capital.

Italian cured meats: Vincenzo Mancino

The collaboration between “La Pecora Nera” and Vincenzo Mancino has already earned success with Formanticum, the Italian dairy rarity trade fair held in Rome last February.

At the first edition, the event attracted about 1,500 visitors, who were able to taste and purchase delicacies from all over Italy, illustrated directly by the producers.

The location of Salum’è will be exclusive. It is in fact the WEGIL, a splendid building in Trastevere district that has been recently recovered by the Regional Council of Lazio. There, the exhibitors of Italian cured meats, selected by Vincenzo Mancino, will be grouped by type of products and be able to sell their meats to visitors.

The goal is to bring together both professionals and the Roman public with producers of real rarities in the field of high-quality artisanal Italian cured meats.

Italy has a vast and excellent production: in fact, 43 Italian cured meats have been awarded the PDO and PGI recognition mark by the European Union; 37 are Slow Food Presidia.

The entrance ticket can be purchased at a cost of 5 euros per day and gives access to all the desks, a glass of wine and a glass pocket.

The seminars

During the market exhibition, expert speakers will hold in-depth seminars on the world of Italian cured meats, which will be accessed for free upon reservation.

The seminars are aimed at both enthusiasts and professionals (restaurateurs, shop owners, etc.).
