What to expect
We will begin with a tour of the olive grove to learn about the different types of cultivars, their characteristics and other curiosities. We will then head to the inner room of the old 18th century farmhouse surrounded by nature, for the technical tasting according to the principles of the Italian Olive Oil Sommelier Foundation.
We will taste from 4 to 6 types of oil depending on availability, and learn how to recognise their defects, aromas and correct combinations. We will understand how to read a label and what the secrets are for proper conservation. We will then serve from our pool bar a tasting board of typical Sicilian specialities and the inevitable new olive oil.

The Food Expert:
The history of our family has been linked to these lands for three generations, since grandfather Alfonso, an ancient olive oil merchant, bought the first hectares in the early 1960s and fulfilled his dream of planting an olive grove. It is here that we make our Sicilian extra virgin olive oil PGI, cold extracted from carefully selected olives, harvested by hand and milled within 12 hours.
The farmer, an olive oil sommelier, will guide you through the discovery of olive oil from Sicily. For Sicilian olive oil, this region means one of the Italian territories most suited to the production of this extraordinary gift of the earth and man’s work, which expresses conviviality and culture in its liquid state.
Cancellation policy: all bookings for the Sicilian olive oil tasting can be cancelled within 3 days from the start date of the experience. Read the Terms and Conditions.

Over time, although engaged in other activities, we have never been able to resist the call of this magical place, so much that in 2010 we decided to enlarge the property and create a farmhouse immersed in rural Sicily. An ancient farmhouse dating back to the late eighteenth century, immersed in the quiet of a timeless landscape surrounded by olive trees, carob trees and prickly pears. A magical place where you can find the balance between body and mind, let yourself be guided to the discovery of ancient traditions and savour simple and genuine food.

Review
The owner and her family made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. It’s a beautiful farm, with 5,000 trees, and she spoke in depth and with passion about the farm’s history, the olives and the oil-making process. She led us through a very informative and fun tasting of the oils as well. Her English is perfect, by the way. My only regret is we didn’t spend a night or two in one of their guest rooms– we didn’t realize they also have lodging. I’ll be posting pics and story on Instagram @foodaism.
Thank you for a great informative oil tasting session.
You did a great job and you have a beautiful family olive farm / hotel.
Also thank you for recommending the restaurant: everything was delicious and the staff was wonderful.
