What to expect
Olive oil tasting guided by our Sommelier to discover the fantastic world of Sicilian extra virgin olive oil.
We will welcome you to our farm located in Racalmuto, in the province of Agrigento, for the olive grove tour in search of the different types of cultivars and their characteristics.
We will discover the history and curiosities of the estate, how to take care of the olive trees and what attention should be paid to them during the seasons to ensure the best outcome of the final product.
We will then go to the internal hall of the structure, an old farmhouse from the 18th century surrounded by the purest nature. This is where the olive oil tasting will take place: the technical extra virgin olive oil tasting according to the principles of the Italian Oil Sommelier Foundation.
We will taste from 4 to 6 types of Sicilian olive oil, depending on availability, and learn to recognise their defects, aromas and the right combinations. We will discover the fundamental steps and innovative harvesting techniques adopted by the farm to produce high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Finally, we will understand how to read a label in order to correctly choose the olive oil in the shop and what are the secrets for a correct conservation.
After the extra virgin olive oil tasting guided by the Sommelier, we will serve from our pool bar a tasting board with typical Sicilian foods based on home-made preserves, local gastronomic specialities and the new olive oil, testing the importance of a good extra virgin oil in the kitchen.

The history of our family has been linked to these lands for three generations, since grandfather Alfonso, an ancient olive oil merchant, bought the first hectares in the early 1960s and fulfilled his dream of planting an olive grove. Over time, although engaged in other activities, we have never been able to resist the call of this magical place, so much that in 2010 we decided to enlarge the property and create a farmhouse immersed in rural Sicily. An ancient farmhouse dating back to the late eighteenth century, immersed in the quiet of a timeless landscape surrounded by olive trees, carob trees and prickly pears. A magical place where you can find the balance between body and mind, let yourself be guided to the discovery of ancient traditions and savour simple and genuine food.
