Day 1: Welcome in Portovenere!
Arrival in Portovenere in the afternoon. You will have free time available for the visit of the village, with the wonderful little harbour, the small church of San Pietro, built on the extreme end of the village, from where you can enjoy a beautiful sea view, the 12th century castle, the sanctuary of Madonna Bianca and Byron’s Cave. At the end, transfer to the hotel in La Spezia or nearby, dinner on your own and overnight.

Day 2: The Apuan Alps & Colonnata
Breakfast at the hotel and guided tour to discover the Apuan Alps. The itinerary begins with a visit to the Marble Quarry, the “Galleria di Ravaccione n. 84” (Ravaccione Gallery), the most sensational quarry of Fantiscritti, an immense cathedral dug in the heart of the mountain. Afterwards, visit to a workshop to observe the work of some artisans while they are making their works. Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, you will visit Colonnata, a small village nestled among the quarries that now everyone associates with lard. You will visit an ancient workshop where the famous Colonnata lard (PGI) is produced, you will taste it with other typical products of the area. In the evening return to the hotel, dinner on your own and overnight.

Day 3: Sarzana and Luni
Transfer to Sarzana after breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, guided tour of the ancient village fortified, where we still find the Roman Gate, the Citadel Bastions and the wonderful Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
At the end, we recommend a walk along the picturesque streets and characteristic shops in the centre, or a visit to Luni with its vast archaeological area and the beautiful Museum. Lunch on your own and departure.
