In Gragnano, between wine and archeology

Our visit will begin with a lunch in Gragnano (European capital city of Pasta) in the province of Naples, where you will taste a selection of our wines – Lacryma Christi Rosso, Bianco and Rosato, Gragnano and Falanghina Spumante – paired with samples of local specialities.

After lunch, we will take a leap into history: you will visit Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco, two important residential Roman “villae” located in the Archaeological Site of Stabiae on the south side of the Gulf of Naples, where you will enjoy a fantastic view on the Gulf of Castellammare di Stabia.

Compared to the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the excavations of Stabiae are smaller, but you will have the opportunity to discover a different aspect of Ancient Roman daily life.

The Food Expert: we are a small family winery, founded in 2014 because of our great passion for wine: we only produce a limited number of bottles respecting rural traditions and nature.

We follow all stages of the winemaking process, from the cultivation of vines, located in Gragnano and in different areas of Irpinia up to bottling, that takes place in our small cellar in Castelfranci, land of great wines.

We are a small family winery, founded in 2014 because of our great passion for wine: we only produce a limited number of bottles respecting rural traditions and nature. These family values have been handed on from father to son for generations.

We aim to produce wines that enhance the scents, flavours and colours of our land and its culture. We follow all stages of the winemaking process, from the cultivation of vines, located in Gragnano and in different areas of Irpinia up to bottling, that takes place in our small cellar in Castelfranci, land of great wines.

Our wines are Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and the mythical Taurasi; in the province of Naples, we mostly produce Lacryma Christi.

Lacryma Christi doc: history and legend

The name Lacryma Christi has its roots in a number of legends. The most famous is that of Lucifer, who took with him a piece of heaven when he was cast out. When Christ saw the Gulf of Naples in Italy, he recognized it as this stolen piece and wept over the loss; it is said that vines of Lacryma Christi sprang miraculously from the earth where his tears fell.
