What to expect
An all-round cultural, food and wine tour to discover the enchanting village of Barile and a winery with its own history.
Barile, in the Monte Vulture area, is one of the villages in Basilicata of Arbëreshe (Greek-Albanian) origin, whose language, traditions and religious cults have been preserved for centuries.
Barile is also known as the town of olive oil and wine. Just outside the village, it is possible to visit the “Sheshë” (“square”) wine cellars. These are characteristic, tiny, handcrafted houses with colourful doors where the Aglianico del Vulture wine is stored.
The tour of the town and the winery ends with a tasting of typical Lucanian foods (focaccia, cold cuts, cheese) and 6 wines: Falanghina Basilicata IGT, Aglianico del Vulture DOC, Aglianico del Vulture DOC (double vintage), Aglianico del Vulture DOC (double vintage).
