Extra virgin olive oil: the gold of Tuscany
The headquarters of our farm are in a completely renovated villa from the early 1800s, with a part dating back to medieval times, which maintains an absolutely traditional appearance with original furniture. It is immersed in the most typical Tuscan hilly landscape with cypresses, olive groves and vineyards.
We will begin the experience with a guided tour in the villa: you will discover that for centuries it has been the business centre of our farm and was, at the same time, the aristocratic property of the landowner’s family in the countryside, divided into well-defined areas.
I will illustrate the historical economic development of agriculture in our area from the traditional sharecropping, which has worked for centuries, to the modern farm, which instead requires high specialisation. During the tour in the olive groves and in the cellar, we will explain the daily work of olive cultivation throughout the year in its different phases, respecting our territory and environmental sustainability.
We will also explain the characteristics of extra virgin olive oil, especially the Tuscan one, directly linked to the different phases of the production chain, with particular attention to the final transformation from olives to olive oil in the mill. You will learn how to recognise an excellent extra virgin olive oil from its organoleptic qualities – taste, colour, smell – and from the label on the bottle. At the end of the experience, we will taste together our extra virgin olive oil and you will be able to buy the products that you prefer.
For children up to 8 years accompanied by parents, the experience is free.

The headquarters of our farm are in an ancient villa, which has been inhabited since the Middle Ages. One of our ancestors, official and minister of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, chose it as his country residence from the second half of the 18th century.
Imagine living in the Tuscany of a few centuries ago, in a villa of an elegance and splendour of past times! This is what visitors feel while entering our residence, surrounded by an enchanting Italian garden, a perfect place to enjoy moments of peace and relaxation. This place represents the true essence of Tuscany, combining elegant furniture with the green and lush of the outside.
Our family lives on the ground floor of the villa, while we have dedicated the noble floor to a luxury farmhouse consisting of two flats, both of almost 100 square metres, where you can enjoy a splendid view of the hills and the olive groves that are typical of this area south of Florence.
