Bonano Ironworks and Tuscan wines

Enjoy a unique experience in Tuscany between Valdichiana and Casentino! You will visit an ancient 16th century ironworks, discover a renowned Tuscan winery and enjoy relaxation by the pool with lunch and wine tasting.

This tour begins with a visit to the vineyards and the wine cellar of our winery. The guide will tell you more about the wine-making process, involving you in the special art of winemaking. After visiting the winery, you will board our mini van and the guide will take you to a place where you can enjoy an old-time atmosphere. The Bonano Ironworks (“Ferriera del Bonano”, in Italian) is in fact an ancient hydraulic factory: its origins seem to date back to the 16th century under the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Everything has remained intact. You will see original tools and understand the manufacturing process of that time. You will enjoy a luxuriant nature, that evokes strong emotions.

After discovering the Bonano Ironworks, our beautiful swimming pool surrounded by greenery awaits you for a moment of pure relaxation in privacy. You will taste our Tuscan wines and olive oil paired with traditional Tuscan foods, a cold cuts and cheese platter, desserts.

The Food Expert: we have always been committed to protecting the landscape and against any waste of resources, for personal lifestyle and professional choices. Our grapes ripen in rows of Sangiovese, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng and Grechetto, and they are harvested manually. The grapes are arranged in small boxes and taken to the wine cellar where, after a first step on a manual grape selection table and a second automatic grape sorting phase, the selection is completed with a third manual table step to choose the best grapes. We will be waiting for you at the winery for a guided tasting of our fine Tuscan wines!

We have always been committed to protecting the landscape and against any waste of resources, for personal lifestyle and professional choices.

The decision to give new life to the winery derived from this vision and from the belief that it represents our best resources: the seduction of beauty, the pleasure of taste, the harmony of landscapes. It tells a story of uniqueness and affinities between our land of origin, Veneto, and this land of choice, Tuscany: those cultural, artistic, food and wine affinities that were at the origin of the Italian Renaissance and much more history.

The soil and climate conditions are absolutely favourable to the formation of polyphenols and anthocyanin on grapes, thanks to the significant temperature change that characterises our vineyard, being flanked, to the west, by a thick forest and to the east by the lakes of Chiusi, Montepulciano and Trasimeno.
