Sabina, casket of art and nature
An opportunity to experience the Sabina countryside from an unusual perspective. You will discover the excellence of sustainable agriculture and visit places of extraordinary scenic and monumental interest.
I will welcome you to our farm located in the enchanting Sabina countryside near Rome. We will begin the experience with a tour in the farm facilities: you will meet our Maltese goats, curious and sociable animals, visit the shelters with access to the outside, take a walk in the farm pastures.
I will explain the characteristics of our milk, easily digestible and suitable for all ages, the milking of goats and their feeding. Afterwards, we will visit the dairy inside the farm and taste the specialities from our closed food supply chain.
After the tasting, we will visit the Abbey of St. Andrew in Flumine in Ponzano Romano (Rome) and the Abbey of Vescovio in Torri in Sabina (Rieti).
The Abbey of St. Andrew in Flumine has dominated the lush Tiber Valley for centuries. Inside the abbey complex, the splendid church, founded in the sixth century on a pre-existing Roman settlement, welcomes visitors with solemnity, offering to their view the precious frescoes, the granite columns and half-columns with Ionic and Corinthian capitals, the Cosmati pavement. The Abbey of St. Mary in Vescovio dates back to the eighth century and was built in the area where, in ancient times, the Roman town of Forum Novum was located. The bell tower and the thirteenth-century frescoes with scenes from the Old and New Testament are very beautiful and precious.
The Expert Alessandro: the farm is located in the Sabina countryside near Montelibretti, Rome. We have been breeding about 300 Maltese goats registered in the breed herdbook. The Maltese goat comes from the Mediterranean area, adapts well to our local climate for its hardiness, robustness and produces a type of milk which is particularly suitable for processing. Furthermore, the moderate smell and taste of goat milk favourably predisposes to the consumption of goat products.

The animals are housed in large shelters with access to the outside. Their diet is based on farm pasture, local hay and Non-GMO fodder based on corn and barley. Breastfeeding is carried out naturally with the mother, without using artificial milk, to improve the well-being of mothers and babies.
The milk is processed in the dairy inside the farm, where we produce pasteurised milk, white and fruit yoghurt, fresh and aged cheeses. The farm philosophy has always been based on the values of animal welfare and sustainability. The choice of a low environmental impact breeding is reinforced by the production of renewable solar energy with photovoltaic panels, perfectly integrated into the roofs without any disfigurement in the landscape.
