Discover Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometer stretch of breathtaking coastline along the Sorrentine Peninsula. The most popular bases are Positano (glamorous and Instagram-famous), Amalfi (historic center with the cathedral), and Ravello (hilltop gardens with panoramic views). Sorrento, at the western end, offers the best transport connections.
This is Italy's most expensive coastal destination. Budget hotels start at โฌ120-180 per night in low season, while boutique cliffside hotels with sea views range from โฌ300-1000. The best time to visit is May-June or September-October. July-August is extremely crowded and expensive. Renting a car is not recommended โ the roads are narrow and parking is scarce.
